Pause and Speed

You can add pauses and adjust the speed to make pronunciation natural.

How to Add Pauses

1. Click with the cursor where you want to insert a pause. Then, click Pause.
   
   

2. Select the duration of the pause.
   A single <break> tag will appear.
   
   
   
   To change the duration of the pause, delete the tag and insert a new one, or change the time inside the tag.
   
   

   To make speech more natural, you can add intonation between sentences and paragraphs.

   Tag	Description
   <p>...</p>	This tag separates paragraphs from each other.
   <s>...</s>	This tag separates sentences from each other.

   

How to Adjust Speed

1. Highlight the phrase you want to speed up and click Speed.
   
   
2. Then, choose how fast the speaker should read the text.
   
   The paired <prosody> tag will appear.
   
   
   
   To change the audio speed, delete the tags and insert a new one, or change the speed inside the tag.
