Create rating scales and award points for achieving evaluation criteria. This facilitates a streamlined process for observers to assess employee skills and compliance, thus enabling the collection of valid performance data.

How to create a scale

  1. Go to On-the-job Training > Rating Scales.

  2. Click on New Scale.

  3. You can create a scale right on the observation checklist. To do this, open the drop-down list in the Scale column and scroll up. Click on Create Scale.

  4. Type the name of the scale. Click on Add Level to include more evaluation parameters.

  5. Assign points to each level, which will be used by the observer to evaluate the employee's performance.

  6. After the scale is ready, click on Create.

Great! You added a new scale of gradation by level.

How to edit a scale

Scales can be edited to fit a specific task. For example, you can change the levels or the number of awarded points.

  1. Go to the Rating Scales section and click on a scale from the list.

Or select Edit on the side panel.

  2. Change the title, awarded points, or number of levels.

  3. If you need to delete a level, click on the cross.

  4. Administrators can edit the rating scale on the observation checklist.

  5. To apply your changes, click on Save.

Done! You edited the scale. Apply it for new sessions or those that have not started.

You cannot edit the “Yes or No” scale that’s used in the account by default. The default scale is applied to all previously created checklists. Such an uneditable scale is marked with a lock.

How to select a scale

  1. Create an evaluation checklist and add evaluation criteria.

  2. Navigate to the Scale column and select another scale from the drop-down list.

  3. Mouse over the scale name to preview the levels and scoring it provides.

  4. Select a scale for each criterion. Scales can vary between certain criteria and within an area of competency.

That's it! You've set up the new scale for the evaluation criteria.
