The Account Owner and Administrator can go into the employee's profile and change the date when the current certificate should expire in the Learner's Achievements tab. Department Administrators and custom roles can only do this for users in their visibility zone.

It is possible to change the expiration date for all valid certificates across all types of content.

  1. In the Users tab, select the learner and click on Edit User.

  2. Go to the Achievements tab.

  3. Click on Certificates.

  4. Select the course and click on Edit date in the Expires on column.

  5. In the Edit expiration date window, select a new validity period for the certificate in the calendar.

If you choose a date that has already passed, the LMS will warn you that the certificate's status will change to "Expired." Then, the automatic reassignment for the course will be canceled, and you can only reassign it manually.

If you choose a date in the future, the course will be reassigned after the selected period from the new expiration date of the certificate.

  6. If you need to explain why you are either extending or revoking the certificate, specify the reason in the Reason for date change field.

  7. Click on Save.

Well done! You've changed the expiration date for a certificate.

How to track the expiration date amendments in reports

  1. In the Reports tab, go to Other and select Certificates.

  2. Click on the date in the Certificate expiration date column.

You will be able to track how the certificate expiration dates have changed:

    • Who was the last to change the date
    • When it was changed
    • The reason (if it is mentioned)
