Inserting a freeze frame into a video will be useful if your video clip comes with a separately recorded audio. With this option, you can extend length of the video sequence to synchronize it with the voice narration.

For instance, you can add a freeze frame to finish audio explanation of a certain video fragment or insert a freeze frame at the end if the audio narration is longer than the video.

To add a freeze frame into the video clip:

  1. Select the video track and place the timeline cursor where you want a freeze frame to appear.

  2. Right-click on the video track and choose Insert freeze frame in the context menu. Also, you can use keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+E to add a freeze frame.

  3. A 1 second-long frame will be added to the insertion point where the timeline cursor is placed. The freeze frame will be an exact copy of the frame to the left of the cursor.

The option to insert a freeze frame is not available if the timeline cursor is placed upon on a transition effect between two elements.
