The integration is supported on cloud and on-premise versions of iSpring Learn.

On-premise software is installed and runs on a company's own hardware infrastructure, and is hosted locally, whereas cloud software is stored and managed on the provider's servers, and accessed through a web browser or other interface.

ProctorEdu is a solution for online monitoring, recording, and evaluating user behaviour throughout online assessments.

ProctorEdu allows you to track user activity and verify their identity, so you can ensure accurate and valid test results. 

Proctoring is the procedure for monitoring the progress of a remote test.

A proctor is an observer who monitors compliance with remote testing rules.

How to Set Up ProctorEdu

Before connecting this integration to iSpring Learn, you’ll need to create a session in ProctorEdu. Let's see how to create a session with a proctor.

How to Create a Proctor Role

  1. Go to the Users section and click on the  icon.



  2. In the user profile, fill in the fields and create a username and password.
     

    Done! You’ve added a proctor.

How to Create a Proctoring Session

  1. Go to the Sessions section and click on the icon.



  2. Enter the name of the session in the ID field. Later, you’ll use the session name when enabling the integration in iSpring Learn.



  3. Next, go to the Addons tab and select what the user should check and provide before testing, such as a photo of their passport.



  4. Then, add a proctor in the Members section. In the search field, enter the proctor's log-in and click on the icon.



  5. When everything has been filled in, click on the icon.



    Perfect! You’ve created a proctoring session in ProctorEdu.

How to Enable and Set Up Integration with ProctorEdu

  1. Go to Services → Connected Apps and click Learn more.



  2. Read the description of the integration and leave a request to enable it.



  3. Then, fill in the fields in iSpring Learn.

    URLProctorEdu account URL.
    JWT Secret KeyClients' secret key in JWT.
    Session IdentifierThe session title.

    • You’ll receive the URL and JWT Secret Key when purchasing a ProctorEdu account.

    • To get a Session Identifier, go to your ProctorEdu account and copy the ID.

  4. Once completed, click Enable.



    Perfect! You’ve enabled the integration. Now you need to set up proctoring for the quiz.

    Proctoring does not work in the iSpring Learn mobile app.

How to Set Up Proctoring for a Quiz

Proctoring works only for standalone quizzes. This can be an online quiz or a quiz created with QuizMaker.

  1. Open the quiz and go to the Availability section.

  2. Scroll to the Proctoring section and check the Enable ProctorEdu monitoring.



    Done! Now you can control the reliability of online tests. If the quiz has linked copies, proctoring will work for them as well.
